The system
With this system all printing plates are automatically being measured and analyzed after production, and the collected data is immediately evaluated. Thus, PQCS.net guarantees production security of the printing plate processing, as well as stability of the various working processes during plate manufacturing.
The wedge
In order to allow an automatic measuring of each single printing plate, the PQCS wedge is being exposed along with each plate. The wedge consists of 18 freely definable measuring fields (0% - 100%) and 3 technical measuring fields (e.g. 1x1, 2x2, 3x3 pixel fields, Siemensstern, etc.) which are adjusted to the respective printing plate technology. The wedge, with its size of only 6 x 4 mm, is structured in a way, that it can easily be exposed within the nonprinting area of any plate. As the requirements of the various applications differ, several wedges may be positioned on one same plate and be evaluated with one or several PQCS.net cams.
The CCD-Cam
The PQCS.net system operates with a high resolution CCD cam which sends the collected data to an SQL database. Any user can retrieve and monitor the database evaluations via an Internet browser in the network.
The quality
As the quality of the printing plates also depends on "invisible" factors like for instance the temperature, the age of the chemical components and the condition of the laser, image setters, processors, as well as blanking and folding devices are being integrated in PQCS.net, in order to be able to monitor all parameters of the printing plate production.
The alert function
Should any value differ from the user defined tolerance range, the user may be alerted by various possible alarm functionalities (flashing lights, sirens, email, SMS, etc.).This feature avoids that defective printing plates showing tone level transformation, or tend to scumming or an insufficient print run stability will reach the printing machine.
